Red Sox History
Following an 86 year drought, the Red Sox have now won the World Series twice in four seasons.
The Red Sox won five of the first 15 World Series and have now won seven in their history. The Red Sox
greatest player, Ted Williams, is the last player in either league to bat .400 or better in a single
season. Williams batted .406 in 1946. A total of 28 players in the Hall of Fame played for the Sox
at one time during their career.
