The Red Sox completed a 5-1 homestand with a 7-3 victory over the Rays on Sunday. John Lester picked up the win with six strong innings. Kevin Youkilis was the offense star of the game with three hits (including a homer) and four RBIs. Jon Papelbon grabbed his ninth save. Boston (20-13) next visits Detroit (14-18). Matsuzaka (4-0, 2.52) and Bonderman (2-2, 3.86) will take the hill on Monday night.

The Red Sox were 22-28 in one run games in the regular season (9-22 after June 26th). They were 25-5 in games in which one team has scored ten runs or more. The Red Sox outscored by their opponents by a total of 208 runs.

The Red Sox were 13-4 on Thursday this season. They were 50-29 Friday through Sunday and 33-33 Monday through Wednesday.

The Red Sox outscored the Angels 25-3 in a three game sweep in April and outscored the Blue Jays 26-5 in a three game sweep in May. Prior to this season, the Sox had not outscored an opponent by 20 runs or more in a three game series since 2004.

The Red Sox outscored the White Sox 46-7 in a four game sweep in Chicago in August. This marked the first time in 85 years that an AL team has scored 10 runs or more in each game of a four-game series.

The Red Sox became the first team in history to win eight consecutive games in a single postseason.

Red Sox starters gave up 0 earned runs and 10 hits in 20 innings in Games 2, 3 and 4. Rolen and Edmonds were a combined 1 for 30 in the World Series.

The Red Sox never trailed in the World Series and were ahead in 34 of 36 innings in the series.

Keith Foulke gave up just one run in 14 innings in the postseason. Manny Ramirez had a hit in every single postseason game. Derek Lowe was the winning pitcher in the final game of the ALDS, ALCS and the World Series. Lowe had an ERA of 1.86 in the playoffs.

The Red Sox record before Nomar Garciaparra returned to the lineup and after he was traded is 82-46 (a .641 winning percentage). With Nomar, the Sox were 16-18 (a .471 winning percentage).

In his last 20 starts, Bronson Arroyo has an ERA of 3.60 and a strikeout to walk ratio of 3.1. Arroyo is 8-2 in his last 10 decisions and the Sox have won the last eight times Arroyo has started.
